“YOUR SON WANTS TO SEE YOU.” Michael’s face went blank. He stood still, frozen. He swallowed hard as if struggling to speak. He stared at the ceiling looking for the right words to say. All he could think was “I can’t, I’m sorry.”
Jen called and she’s here on a vacation with their son Paulo. He wanted to see him badly to get to know his father and spend some time with him. He just turned seven and very much curious of what his father was like. He had grown insecure of other kids who had fathers to pick them up after school or join them in baseball practice or watch football games. Though he’s young to understand any of it all, he felt a sense of emptiness – a big part of him is missing. He asked his mom where his father was and her only answer was to show him where.
Once again the phone rang and this time it wasn’t Jen who was speaking.
